Philip Hughes is an exhibition designer working in London. He graduated with an MA from the Royal College of Art in 1989 and has designed both museum and trade fair exhibitions around the world. He has also taught design at a number of institutions, including the University of Portsmouth and the University of the Creative Arts in Farnham.

All about exhibitions

"Exhibition Design" is a book that helps to setting solid grounds for designing an exhibition stand. It covers all aspects that have to do with the exhibition and successfully puts us in the clients', exhibitors' and designers' shoes. Explanatory, on the point and easy to read.
It helped me in organizing my thoughts and things-to-do for an exhibition stand and in winning my first exhibition client.

Want to learn about what is needed to create a great exhibition, or to work within the exhibition design field then as a student this is the book for you. If you are already an exhibition designer and want to remind yourself of what you should be doing and how to do it, then this is the book for you. If you just want to find out what goes on behind the scenes of our museums and galleries then this book will show you.
A really refreshing take on an industry which only usually shows the gloss and sparkle of the press images Philip Hughes really explains the nitty gritty of exhibition design.

Fabulous book for laypeople as well as exhibition space cognoscenti

Hughes writes with a facility not always found in experts. Often, people who know so much about something can get bogged down in minutiae which is not so interesting to the masses, i.e. me. Loved this book and would recommend it to anyone. Really.
