This is a terribly written book

This is a terribly written book. I bought it as a sort of "insurance policy" before taking the exam. I have been using Teradata for over 5 years, and am reasonably familiar with Teradata SQL. But I thought, "What the heck?", I might as well read through the official certification study guide to make sure I passed the test. Well, I passed the test, and so I guess the insurance was worth it. The guide did spend chapters on features of Teradata SQL that my company (a very large Teradata user) never, ever, uses. So that forced exposure helped me a bit with the test.
Anyway, I did get some value from the book. But I won't keep it on my shelf as a SQL reference. It's horrendous in that regard.

A Good Review For Test Takers

I bought this for review purposes and for that it was really useful. I reviewed it the week before my test and passed even though I ran out of time before getting to all the questions. I have more than a decade using Teradata SQL so I wouldn't expect anyone to think they are going to pass the test on this guide alone. If you haven't any experience with Teradata SQL make sure to download one of the Teradata Express Virtual Machines and download the full SQL guides from Teradata info.

Good manual geared towards certification exams. The drawback is there is not enough detailed explanation with many examples.
