Desperately Seeking Annie by Patricia Knoll

Two years ago Annie had witnessed the plane crash that had taken both her parents from her. Still in shock, she had continued on with her hotelier training in Seattle and after a few months she returned to Anapamua Island to take over management of the family Inn. Flynn Parker is ready for a vacation and spending his down time checking out the Anapamua Inn as a possible acquisition for Parker Hotels is a pleasant way to combine business with pleasure. But Flynn has promised himself to use this time to make a decision regarding his runaway wife. Surely after two years it's time to hire the PI and file for divorce. Imagine his shock when the Inn's lovely manager turns out to be that runaway wife and she claims she's never been married and she's never met him before. Annie's beyond shock with Flynn's declaration that he's her husband, but could it be true? Two years ago she'd returned to the Island with several months missing from her memory. The doctors had said that the trauma of witnessing her parent's death had put her in a fugue state where she had functioned mostly on autopilot. Surely Flynn must realize that the spirited Annie before him now is nothing at all like the quiet sweet woman he married.
This was a delightful read. Flynn is determined to show Annie that their marriage deserves a chance. I loved that about him. He wasn't prepared to give her up now that he'd found her again even though this Annie was much more contrary than the Annie he'd married. Annie realizes that there's something about Flynn that draws her and allows her to see that a marriage is possible. But in order for them to start their future, Annie has to come to terms with her past and the tragedy of the plane crash. Flynn slowly shows her that she no longer has to face the future alone, that she has a partner to share the good and the bad. This is a lovely story of two soul mates that are fated to be together.
